Olga Golodets, the Deputy Prime Minister, said at the meeting of the State Duma on Wednesday that the scientific community should be fully responsible for the performance of scientific schools and set priorities in the field of engineering, medical, and other sciences.
Introducing a draft law on RAS reform at the State Duma on Wednesday Olga Golodets, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, stated that more than half of employees on the staff of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) had no direct relationship to science; only 45,000 out of 95,000 people were academic staff.
Making a speech at the State Duma on Wednesday Olga Golodets, the Deputy Prime Minister, said that young people were isolated from the system of the Russian Academy of Science today; the first Russian members of the Academy in the Petrine era had been at the age of 20 to 25 years, and then the average age of the RAS members was more than 70 years.
Making a speech at the State Duma on Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets stated that about 56% of the RAS real estate items were not registered properly.
“According to the latest data of the Russian Federation Accounts Chamber 56% of the RAS real estate items are not even entered into the register,” said Golodets at the State Duma, where the first reading of the draft law on the RAS reform takes place.
There is a contest announced for taking part in programs “Mikhail Lomonosov” and “Immanuel Kant”, jointly financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DААD – German Academic Exchange Service).
