Eighteen Russian universities entered the ranking of the best universities in the world according to UK-based QS ranking, but only Lomonosov Moscow State University remains in the top 200, according to data provided by RIA Novosti group within the cooperation with QS Quacquarelli Symonds.The rating is based on six evaluation criteria: reputation in educational community, citation of publications of the university personnel, the ratio of the number of teachers and students, attitudes of employers to graduates, as well as relative number of foreign teachers and students.


Well-known American economist and professor at the University of California at Berkeley, Bradford DeLong  is speaking to students and faculty of MGIMO on Tuesday with the lecture on "The end of neo-liberal future: 6 years later", as it is said in press release of VTB Bank  media office, who supports organisation of DeLong's visit to Moscow.


Lobachevskiy State University of Nizhny Novgorod (UNN) again entered the final table of TOP- 800 of leading world universities of QS World University Ranking.


Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) does not have enough scientifical indicators to improve its position in the ranking of the QS, and Tomsk State University (TSU) comes short of foreign students and reputation of experts, reported representatives of universities on Tuesday during video conference in regional media centre of RIA Novosti.


The number of Russian universities participating in world ranking of universities according to the QS is growing, this year the list of the best included newcomers from regions. In the opinion of directors, international recognition for their universities  is an opportunity to attract more students from abroad, to increase number of orders for scientific research, as well as it is an incentive to maintain their positions in order to stay in the ranking.
