Lobachevskiy State University of Nizhny Novgorod (UNN) again entered the final table of TOP- 800 of leading world universities of QS World University Ranking.
In early September, RIA Novosti entered into an agreement with the world's leading analyst of higher education and employment of the British company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), which is well-known by rankings of universities. Now, the agency will regularly publish rankings of higher schools in Russia and abroad, including by subject areas.
As RIA Novosti reported to UNN, the university is in the league table for the third year, but this year it has dropped in rankings  from 601 + group  to 701 +. "Recent year, the QS evaluated over three thousand universities, while in the past year 2500 were considered for assessment. According to our estimates many Russian universities have applied to participate in the ranking. Competition increases,"- said the representative of the university.
He noted that, despite the drop in the overall ranking, the UNN sees positive dynamics for a number of criteria that were evaluated - academic reputation, reputation among employers, the ratio of students and teachers, the number of foreign teachers and increase in the number of publications about the university.
Interlocutor of the agency also reported that currently there is a cooperation agreement between the UNN and the QS under which the agency advises and helps academic institution to improve their competitiveness.
